Make a Quilted Vest
This beautiful Quilted Vest was created using the Free Purl Soho Pattern and a few simple adjustments.
Print your pattern pieces and tape your pieces together. To gauge the correct size, I cut and sewed a toile using calico. I made adjustments to the neck and shortened the length.
Cut the adjusted pattern from your quilted fabric and sew the shoulder seams and side seams.
Seams can be overlocked or bound to finish.

In contrast fabric, cut 2.5” strips on the bias to finish the armholes and outer edges. If you would like a tie front, cut two strips on the straight grain of fabric 2”wide by desired length.
With right sides together fold in half on the long edge and sew across the top and down one side using a ¼ “ seam.
Clip corner and turn to the right side, gently poking out the corners and press.

Pin the ties in place if using.

Fold the bias strip in half lengthways and pin to the right side of the vest and armholes matching the raw edges.

Sew using a ¼” seam

Fold the double sided bias under to the wrong side and pin covering the seam allowance. Sew binding to finish your armholes and outer edges adding a fun label as you go.
