The Kite Pants are all about easy sewing and effortless style! Designed with beginners in mind (but great for all skill levels), this pattern comes together quickly and is packed with playful details. The high-waisted, ankle-length fit features a subtly curved leg for a relaxed, modern shape (think barrel-lite). A unique side inset detail makes the perfect canvas for patchworking, color-blocking, or using up those favorite fabric scraps. This fun silhouette includes two front pockets and two back pockets. The elastic waistband keeps things comfy, so you can wear them all day, every day. We’ve included a quilted version for the coziest winter pants ever. Whether you're lounging, layering, or heading out the door, the Kite Pants are as fun to make as they are to wear—and they’re sure to become a go-to in your handmade wardrobe.

Like all Matchy Matchy patterns, the Kite Pants are designed with simple shapes and easy construction—so you can skip the overwhelm and jump straight into the joy of making.

Fabric requirements: Extra fabric may be needed to match stripes, plaids or directional prints. Extra 0.5 yd/m will be needed to make bias binding for View B.

44" (112 cm) wide fabric: 3 - 4 yd (2.8 - 3.7 m).

54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 2.5 - 4 yd (2.3 - 3.7 m).

Sizes: XXS – 6XL 

Notions: 1.5" (4 cm) elastic // View B: wadding/batting.
