Simple six-pointed stars in natural cream, printed in tidy offset rows across a warm madder red. A small, quiet pattern with just enough wobble in the edges to show it was printed by hand. Easy to use in quantity and a good foil for the bigger florals and geometrics — lovely for quilt backing, linings, bunting, cushions and children's clothes

Bagru printing comes from a small town near Jaipur in Rajasthan, where the Chhipa community has been dyeing and block printing cotton for generations. The blocks are hand carved from sheesham or teak, hardwoods chosen because they hold a fine line. And the colour comes from the earth, not a lab: indigo for blue, madder root for red, and iron for black.

Fabric care:  Hand washing in cool water with a handful of salt for the first few washes, assists with setting the dye. Do not soak, bleach or wring. Drip dry or dry without delay away from direct sunlight. Warm iron. 

Our fabric is sold per 25 cm (¼ metre). If you would like to purchase one metre of fabric please enter 4 units. When purchasing multiple units, the fabric will be cut continuously.
